Jill Biden to Arizona Volunteers: “We Have to Decide What Happens”
Biden Kicks off Weekend of Action with Virtual Phone Bank
Jill Biden helped Mission for Arizona kick off its September “Weekend of Action” by virtually greeting phone bank volunteers and organizers. Biden, who began by honoring Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, asked participants to visualize how they will feel the day after Joe Biden is elected, and then encouraged them to channel that hope and drive into action for the next 45 days. Biden highlighted Mission for Arizona’s organizing work over the last month, including more than 7,000 volunteers who have made more than 750,000 calls.
“For the next 45 days, we don’t have to just watch what happens — we have to decide what happens.”
“It is easy to watch what is happening and feel helpless. But for the next 45 days, we don’t have to just watch what happens — we have to decide what happens. And Joe has the plan and the tested experience we need to end this pandemic. He has the empathy and the character to bring us back together and heal our fractured communities. And he has the fortitude to help us rebuild better than ever. With his steady leadership, we can change the course of our future. And we have 45 days to make that a reality,” said Jill Biden.
The deadline to register to vote in Arizona is October 5, and the last day to request a mail-in ballot is October 23. Early voting begins in the state October 7. Make a safe and secure plan to vote by visiting IWillVote.com or VoyAvotar.com.
