Ballots are dropping and early vote centers are opening in just two days in Arizona, and local leaders are channeling their excitement into a call to action: asking Arizonans to be “First Week Voters.”

In new selfie videos released on social media, elected officials including Former Arizona Attorney General Grant Woods, State Rep. Raquel Terán, State Rep. Charlene Fernandez and Coconino County Treasurer Sarah Benatar reminded Arizonans why we all need to be First Week Voters for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Mark Kelly, and Democrats across the state. They encouraged everyone to register to vote by today and make a plan to vote early — either by mail or in-person — this week.

Today is the last day for Arizonans to register to vote, and early voting begins this Wednesday, October 7. Arizonans can make their plan to vote at IWillVote.com or VoyAVotar.com.

“I’m urging you to make a plan to vote this week. We waited four years for this, to put Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the White House, now’s our time,” said former Arizona Attorney General Grant Woods. “We’re going to win this thing. Make a plan. This week, we begin to vote.”

“What does it mean to be a First Week Voter? It means that as soon as I receive my ballot, I will fill it out for them and make sure I cast my vote. I’m asking you to join our movement, make sure you’re registered to vote because the voter registration deadline is coming up October 5 and early voting starts October 7,”said State Rep. Raquel Terán. “If we are First Week Voters, we’re able to reach out to more people and make sure that our voices are heard loud and clear for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Mark Kelly, and Democrats down the ballot this November.”

“I’m going to be a first week voter and I want you to join me. We’re going to vote for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Mark Kelly, and every Democrat up and down the ballot. But first, we have to make sure that you are registered to vote,” said State Rep. Charlene Fernandez. “Please go to IWillVote.com or VoyAVotar.com. So join me, October 5 is the last day to register to vote. October 7, ballots start dropping. See you at the ballot box!”

“She [her daughter Elena] is the reason I’m going to be a first week voter for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Mark Kelly, and all Democrats up and down the ballot,” said Coconino County Treasurer Sarah Benatar. “There’s so much at stake this election, but for me, what’s at stake most is the future of my child. My family came to this country from Guatemala wanting a better life for the kids, the grandkids, and great-grandkids my mom and my grandma would one day have. That future — that American dream — is at stake right now, and the only person who will ensure that all Americans can achieve that American dream is Joe Biden.”
